Last month I receieved a beta version of Microsoft Windows CE 6, aka "Yamazaki". I've been playing around with it for little over a month now, checking out what's new and what's changed compared to trusty ol' CE 5 -and it sure is a lot of changes! Microsoft's engineers must have been working in overdrive to put this relase together, because this version of Windows CE contains major changes both to the IDE and to the core os -not to mention the usual pile of new and improved drivers and services.
While one obvious change is the IDE, which now run as a plugin for Visual Studio 2005, I'd say that the most radical changes have been made to the kernel and virtual memory architecture. Since there's very little on-line, in-depth information available on the new kernel architecture and virtual memory model, I thought it would be a good ida to publish a couple of articles covering the new kernel and memory model in this next release of CE. So, if you havn't allready, check out the new articles' section!
